Help for families caring for the elderly

Davis County Health Department's Family Caregiver Support Program is offering an eight-week series of classes for individuals caring for family members who are older or frail.

These classes are free to the public. Individuals may attend at any time.

Presenters will discuss various topics such as caregiver burnout, legal issues, five stages of grief and the art of grandparenting.

Classes will be offered on Thursdays starting Sept.

Mae. A. Lundberg Kinard Worthen, 95, of Layton, Utah, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in her Layton home. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Evergreen Chapel, 2435 E. 1500 North, Layton, Utah. Prep football: Darts continue hot start, thump Falcons

KAYSVILLE -- Although it's only week two, the Davis Darts are on a roll.

After Clearfield defeated Taylorsville 40-0 a week ago, Davis figured to provide a measuring stick for the Falcons. However, before the midway point of the third quarter, the Darts held a 42-0 lead en route to a 49-14 decision, giving Davis its second 35-point victory of the season.

KAYSVILLE -- The city of Kaysville has filed a complaint in U.S. District Court against the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation to recover $703,646 plus interest on escrow accounts that were being held in Barnes Bank to ensure the proper development of three residential subdivisions in the city.
