Three football-playing brothers: Stick together despite WSU, USU rivalry

This time next fall, three Higgins brothers from the island of Hawaii will have one game in the Top of Utah circled on their calendar: Weber State at Utah State.

Julie Rose has raised goats before, but she has to treat her current herd with kid gloves -- if they get too excited, they keel over.

"They're docile, quiet and very friendly little goats," she said. "You just don't know when they're going to faint."

McBride, Higgins lead new-look Wildcats

OGDEN -- After unprecedented back-to-back trips to the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs, Weber State is looking to stretch a double into a triple.

To reach the FCS playoffs for a third straight year, coach Ron McBride's young Wildcats have to step up to own the tradition, as well as overcome a Big Sky Conference schedule bookended by tough road games at Boston College and Texas Tech. Weber State opens the season Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at BC's Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
