LAYTON -- State and Davis County Republican Party leaders stopped short Friday of asking Layton lawmaker Rep. Kevin Garn to resign, but expressed shock at his confession that, when he was 28, he was naked with a 15-year-old girl in a hot tub 25 years ago.

SALT LAKE CITY -- The demand for food stamp assistance continues to rise in Utah.

According to the Utah Department of Workforce Services, 98,574 households were using food stamps as of February. That's up 1 percent from the previous month.

2 charged in death of South Salt Lake man

SALT LAKE CITY -- Two men have been charged in the death of a South Salt Lake man.

Jason James Davis and Chad Duran Nester Jr. are each charged with a count of murder, two counts of aggravated robbery and a count of aggravated burglary. All are first-degree felonies.
